The theme for the 2017 Iowa Annual Conference is “Creating Difference Makers: inspiring and equipping grace-filled followers of Jesus Christ to make a difference wherever they are.”
Creating, inspiring, equipping and celebrating United Methodist Difference Makers in the state of Iowa goes hand in hand with our Conference’s Wildly Important Goal (WIG): which is for each United Methodist Church in the IAUMC to have a Discipleship Pathway in place by 2020. The role of the church is to make disciples (on purpose!) and the role of disciples are to make a difference in the world, wherever they are.
This retreat is designed for all churches who are looking for an intentional weekend to continue to develop and deepen their Discipleship Pathway process. Open to all churches, (even those who have not formally participated in HCI), this will be a weekend of spiritual renewal, worship, workshops on best practices, peer learning and connection with other churches, and hands-on coaching from the FOM team.
The Annual Conference HCI Coordinating Committee is subsidizing much of the cost for this retreat – we believe in you, the work that you are doing with God, and want to offer another level of support and learning.
The registration fee for this retreat is $150 per church for up to three people attending. Registration Fee covers lodging and meals. Additional people can be added for $25 each.
If the registration fee is an issue, please speak with your DS or your FOM.
